Center for Inquiry Northeast Ohio
Our annual Members’ Summer Picnic is a chance to participate in a laid-back afternoon of food and socializing with your fellow secular humanists. Open to paid members and their guest(s), this event is one of the few things we do especially for members. It is also designed to be a family friendly event. We hope to start serving burgers and hot dogs promptly at 1 pm and keep the grills going until all are satisfied. Weather and circumstances cooperating, our own webmaster, Mel Vye, should have his pontoon boat there giving rides around the Portage Lakes for anyone who is interested!
The Picnic is Sunday, August 19, from 1 to 5 pm at the Portage Lakes State Park Old Park Walker Shelter, 4357 State Park Drive. This is NOT at the entrance to the state park off of Manchester Rd. State Park Drive is off of State Route 619, Turkey Foot Lake Rd., across from Deitz’ Landing and Marina. Look for the shelter by the boat launch ramp area.
You won’t need to bring anything except yourself and an appetite. The Chapter will provide everything else. We do ask that if you wish to attend you RSVP by August 17 to Akron-Canton Chair Paul Woodring of your intentions and how many will be in your party. His email is “firstname.lastname@example.org”, and his cell phone is 330-807-7653.
If you are not sure of your membership status, please contact chapter president Monette Richards, email “email@example.com”
We hope you can join us.
