April Cleveland Chapter Meeting: “The Persistent Myth of the Human Spirit”Date:

It can be said that groups such as this one have had “spirited” discussions. And a fairly reasonable use of the term “human spirit” might be applied when, for example, people from all walks of life pull together in the face of a disaster (etc). But as we know, the term “spirit” refers to something altogether different for most of humanity.
Join us for our April Cleveland chapter meeting, which will feature a program by longtime CFI member Linus Ogbuji. In his presentation, titled “The Persistent Myth of the Human Spirit”, Linus will explore the inextricable link between the belief in a human “spirit” and religious belief in general. He will also be offering a critique of the oft-heard “spiritual, but not religious” position.
Linus is a retired professor of engineering and NASA scientist. A naturalized US citizen, he has lived in six countries on three continents (but longest in the USA). Linus is a member of CFI and a life member of American Atheists, and has three sons and sixteen grandchildren.
As usual, light refreshments will be served. See you there! 🙂
